TRENTON’S BAD BET AIRS NEW RADIO ADVERTISEMENT CALLING CASINO EXPANSION A “CON JOB”

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: October 24, 2016

Referendum’s Negative Economic Impact Highlighted & Residents Encouraged To Vote No On Question One

Newark, NJ – Today, Trenton’s Bad Bet launched a new radio ad warning that the proposed expansion of casino gaming into North Jersey is just another “con job” that will cost New Jersey taxpayers dearly. The referendum to expand casino gaming proposed earlier this year will be the first question on the November 8 ballot.

Leveraging the airwaves to encourage New Jersey residents to vote no on the casino referendum, the radio ad highlights the negative economic impact of expanded gaming resulting in cuts to schools, infrastructure and increases in property taxes, which are already among the highest in the country.

North Jersey casinos are another bad Trenton deal.

The Philadelphia Inquirer says sticking two new casinos in North Jersey is a “con job” that could kill Atlantic City.

And the Inquirer says Trenton’s latest scheme will surely backfire.

An independent economic study agrees.

North Jersey casinos could destroy thirty thousand jobs.

Causing two billion dollars of economic losses.

Which means more cuts to schools, more cuts to roads and highways, and more increases in property taxes.

No wonder the Trenton politicians refuse to give us the specifics on where the new casinos will be located, what the tax rates will be or how Trenton’s promised money will be spent.

Trenton’s keeping us in the dark, because their new casinos are another bad deal intended to reward their rich special interest friends at our expense.

Vote No on North Jersey Casinos.

Vote No on Question One.
